Board Announcement
Dear NUSC Family and Friends,
We are saddened by Michael Ghrist’s announcement to resign as President of Noblesville United Soccer Club. The entire Board of Directors and the Directors of Coaching wish to acknowledge the over seven years of selfless service Michael has dedicated to the betterment of youth soccer in Noblesville. In 2006, Michael accepted the challenge to join the Board of Directors and lead the club through the implementation of the NUSC Restructuring Task Force recommendations. He leaves the club on a good course moving forward.
It would be absolutely impossible to describe how Michael has touched the lives of children during his twenty years of coaching soccer. One cannot witness Michael’s interaction with one of his former players without being moved. The Board wishes to further acknowledge and thank the entire Ghrist family for their support of Michael and NUSC during the countless hours of work each week that his role entailed and the resulting time it took away from his family.
In light of Michael’s resignation, the NUSC board has elected Jody Roudebush as President. Jody will fulfill the duties of President through the remainder of Michael’s term, which ends January 31, 2011. Jody will vacate his At-Large position until the board either elects a replacement to fulfill his term or the January 2010 Annual Meeting where a replacement could be elected.
We have several board positions that will be open when elections are held during the annual Meeting. The positions for election are: Recreation Director, Treasurer, and Operations Director. We encourage those interested in helping make NUSC the best community-based soccer club in Indiana and throughout the Midwest, to come to the annual meeting in January. Please contact either Jody or Stephanie Potter to discuss your interest in serving either on the Board of Directors or on a committee in support of each Director. To learn more about the duties and responsibilities of each position; please either call or email Jody or Stephanie. Their email addresses are president@noblesvilleunited.com and secretary@noblesvilleunited.com. The 2010 Annual Meeting location and time will be published on the NUSC website in December of 2009.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jody Roudebush

Special Announcement
Noblesville United Team,
As we head into the off-season, I wanted to offer a quick wrap-up on a very very successful fall season and an update on some Club news:.
Every parent, coach, staff member, team manager and volunteer should take great pride in the fact that you positively impacted the lives of almost 1,100 kids and athletes this fall. We have our largest travel base ever (282) and are back on track to get back to 1000 Rec players in the Spring of 2010.
This fall, we held the 1st Annual Revolution Tournament and attracted 68 teams from the region – a tremendous success for an inaugural tournament with huge potential going forward. This tournament will partner with our White River Classic in the spring to form a great foundation for promoting Noblesville United and attracting top talent.
And everyone’s sincere appreciation to Jody Roudebush for our most successful fund raiser ever – clearing well over $20,000 – with every dollar going back into the Club for new goals, nets, bleachers, etc…
We should also take time to recognize the coaching and professional training staff as I believe that overall they did an excellent job this fall working with our players at every level…thank you.
I have been involved with Noblesville United since moving here in the Spring of 2002 – as a coach, Travel Director and President – and have sincerely enjoyed every moment of my time (well, most of them any how). I am resigning as President of the Club and transitioning my responsibilities to Jody Roudebush – he has proven to be a very effective Board member and a good confidant for me on many matters. Please wish him well as he assumes leadership of the Club.
I want to thank all of the current and previous Board members, volunteers, staff members, trainers and coaches because as a result of your commitment, kids were positively impacted and good sportsmen and women were created. I also want to thank you for your commitment to the Club and your contribution to the successful foundation we have created within Noblesville United and Indianapolis Premier.
Thank you and have a great off-season and I look forward to seeing you in the Spring.

Teams should arrive to the match at least 20 minutes before the match is scheduled to start. Schedules are tight and matches must begin on time. If play has not begun after 5 minutes of schedule start time of the match, the referee may start his/her watch as if play has begun.
MATCH FORMAT AND DURATION OF MATCHES
Each team will play a minimum of 2 games in Pool play on Saturday. Pool play matches may end in a tie. There will be no overtime for Pool Play matches. Teams will play in a minimum of 1 additional Pool game on Sunday. There are no Championship games and only participation medals will be awarded. When uniform colors are similar the home team will change colors. Home team is listed first. Goalkeepers must have a different color jersey from their team and the referees.

FAILURE TO SHOW AND FORFEITS
A five minute grace period will be extended beyond kick-off time before a forfeit will be declared. The Tournament Directors will make a final decision as to whether a forfeit will be declared depending on extenuating circumstances that may have prevented a team from making the match on time. If a forfeit is determined, the winning team will be awarded a score of 4-0 and will receive the appropriate points for that match.
PROTESTS
There are no protests.
TEAM SCORING FORMAT
The following procedure will be used to determine a group winner of a pool or a wild card (best second place team). Three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie and zero (0) points for a loss. Shutouts will earn 2 points and number of goals scored will equal 1 point for each goal scored up to a maximum of 4. In the event of ties in the final point standings, the following sequence will be used.
- Head to head competition between teams that are tied (skip to #2 if 3 or more teams are tied).
- Winner of the most games.

COACH/PLAYER/SPECTATOR CONDUCT
Coaches are responsible for the conduct of players, parents and spectators. Please help us make sure everyone has an enjoyable time. NUSC player and parent Code of Conduct applies for all tournament activities.
TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
The tournament committee will enforce the rules as written, but the committee reserves the right to amend any rule as necessary to accommodate unanticipated problems before and during the tournament. The decision of the committee will be final.
Tournament Philosophy and Policy
TOURNAMENT PHILOSOPHY FOR NOBLESVILLE UNITED SOCCER CLUB
NUSC travel teams will have the opportunity to play in selected tournaments based on the level of play, the competition of the tournament, approximate distance of the tournament and the financial costs correlated with the tournament. The decision of which tournaments that the travel teams will play will be decided by the DOC’s and the Coaches based on the set guidelines above.
The club’s philosophy on attending the tournament will be to compete, to be successful and to ultimately win the tournament. But the club and everyone must also understand that club’s philosophy is never winning at all costs and it is always with the understanding of:
- Each game whether league or tournament is designed to improve the skills of the player individually and collectivity as a team
- That each player, parent, and coach will conduct themselves in a professional and sportsmanlike manner both on and off the field.
- Every game gives the player and the team the opportunity to improve tactical and technical awareness, analysis, and application.
- The goal is that the players are enjoying themselves and their experiences.
NUSC travel teams should limit themselves to no more than 4 tournaments in a given season with limited exceptions to only be approved by their respective DOC.
TOURNAMENT POLICIES FOR NOBLESVILLE UNITED SOCCER CLUB

- No kids at anytime in the coach’s room.
- Coaches at anytime cannot drink or chew tobacco in the presence of the kids.
- Coaches, with the help of managers, must provide an itinerary for the tournament to parents.
